Recovering
Using the software is very simple once the program is loaded you have 2 options either auto scan for thunderbird files or add them manually , thunderbird has 2 files for each mailbox an .nsf file which stores the index (ignored in this program) and a file with the same name with no extension which stores the mail data , this is the file you will need to open if you do not use the autoscan function.
Once open click the mail box to show the emails within , you can select individual emails to restore or select all , in the demo version you will not be able to save or get a full preview.
Importing found EML files back into Thunderbird
Thunderbird has a "File -> Open Saved Messages" command that will let you read a .EML message but it will not import/save it. You can use the ImportExportTools extension to import the .EML files as real messages. You could also drag and drop the .EML files to a open folder window within Outlook Express (while its running, not its directory in windows explorer), and then import the messages from Outlook Express using Tools-> Import.
PLEASE NOTE IF YOU COMPACT YOUR EMAIL REGULARLY DELETED EMAILS WILL BE PERMENTLY REMOVED , DO NOT COMPACT YOUR EMAIL IF YOU SUSPECT YOU HAVE DELETED AN IMPORTANT EMAIL AND DO NOT OPEN THUNDERBIRD UNTIL IT IS RECOVERED.
Ensure you have the latest version by clicking the download button on the menu bar .
